About this data pack
Airport, country and currency data are each free, but not joined: airports carry an ISO country code, countries live in Wikidata, and currencies live behind SPARQL statements with ranks and end dates. This pack joins OurAirports, Wikidata (country and currency items only, CC0) and Natural Earth's country attributes on their ISO codes, and cleans the result.
Every airport, heliport and closed airfield carries its country name, ISO alpha-3, region name and the country's primary currency, so many tasks need no join at all. The country table has ISO 3166-1 codes, names in English plus Arabic, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian and Chinese, UN region, income group and Natural Earth's recorded population and GDP estimates (older estimates, labelled). The currency tables hold ISO 4217 codes with names, dates and a statement-by-statement history of which country used which currency, with retired codes dated.
Where Wikidata is ambiguous (several current currencies) the primary currency is left empty rather than guessed, and the README says so. Airport data is community maintained and comes with no accuracy guarantee; do not use it for navigation. This pack is independent and not endorsed by any source.

Questions
- Where does the data come from? OurAirports (public domain), Wikidata country and currency items only (CC0) and the Natural Earth admin-0 country attribute table (public domain). Nothing else.
- Is the airport data accurate? It is community maintained and comes with no guarantee, as OurAirports says. IATA/ICAO codes and coordinates can be wrong or missing. Do not use it for navigation or any safety-critical purpose.
- Why are some primary currencies empty? Wikidata lists several current currencies for some places (for example Lesotho: LSL and ZAR) and none for some territories. We leave
primary_currency_codeempty rather than guess; the full list is in thecountry_currencytable. - Is it up to date? It is a snapshot taken 2026-10-28 (see the README for each source's vintage). Natural Earth's population and GDP fields are older estimates and are labelled with their year.
- Do I need to credit anyone? No attribution is required. Suggested source lines are in LICENSE_AND_ATTRIBUTION.txt.
- Can I use it commercially? Yes, in your own products, apps and analyses. You may not resell or republish the pack itself as a data product. The source data stay public domain / CC0.
- Refunds? Within 14 days, see the refund policy.
