About this spreadsheet kit

Which holidays does it work for?
Any holiday or season where you give gifts and spend extra: Christmas, Hanukkah, Diwali, Eid, Lunar New Year, or a big birthday month. Type the holiday name and date on Start Here.
Can I reuse it next year?
Yes. Save a copy, clear the Gifts and Other Costs tabs, and keep your People list and Card list. Last year's file is also a good guide for next year's budget.
What happens if I return a gift?
Set its status to Returned. Returned gifts aren't counted in what you've spent, so the person's budget frees up again.
Does it connect to my bank or shops?
No. It's a plain spreadsheet with no scripts, add-ons or accounts. You type in what you buy.
What app do I need?
Any spreadsheet app that opens .xlsx files, on a computer or in the browser. Free web-based spreadsheet apps work too: upload the file and open it. Formulas, dropdowns and charts carry over.
Is there an example version?
Yes. The download includes a blank workbook and a filled-in example, so you can see how everything works before entering your own details.
Can I change it?
Everything is unlocked and editable: categories, tasks, columns and formulas.
Is this a subscription?
