About this spreadsheet kit
Filters, smoke alarms, gutters, the water heater, the dryer vent: houses need a long list of small jobs at very different intervals, and most of them are easy to forget. This workbook comes with 60 common maintenance tasks, grouped by area with a suggested frequency and season. Type the date you last did each one and it works out when it's next due, flags anything overdue, and shows what's coming up this month. Log every repair and service with its cost and warranty, keep your contractors' details and history in one place, and record the things you always have to hunt for: shut-off valves, filter sizes, paint colors, appliance models. It works for houses, condos and rentals. Delete what doesn't apply.
- 60 starter tasks by area, with frequency and best season (all editable)
- Next due date and status worked out from 'last done'
- Service log with costs, contractors and warranty end dates
- Home info sheet and a printable seasonal checklist

Questions
Are the intervals right for my house?
They're common starting points, not rules. Your equipment manuals, climate and local codes come first. Change any task's frequency and the schedule follows.
I rent. Is this useful?
Yes. Delete the tasks your landlord handles and use the Service Log to record when you reported problems and when they were fixed.
What if I've never done most of these?
Leave 'Last done' blank. Those tasks show as 'Not logged' so you can work through them, starting with safety items like smoke and CO alarms.
Does it tell me how to do each job?
No. It's a schedule and record, not a how-to. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and use a licensed professional for gas, electrical, roof and structural work.
What app do I need?
Any spreadsheet app that opens .xlsx files, on a computer or in the browser. Free web-based spreadsheet apps work too: upload the file and open it. Formulas, dropdowns and charts carry over.
Is there an example version?
Yes. The download includes a blank workbook and a filled-in example, so you can see how everything works before entering your own details.
Can I change it?
Everything is unlocked and editable: categories, tasks, columns and formulas.
Is this a subscription?
No. One payment of $9 and the files are yours to keep.
