About this product
A spreadsheet built on NOAA's 1991-2020 U.S. Climate Normals. Choose your state, search for a town or station, and the workbook shows the historical last spring freeze and first fall freeze for that station at the risk level you pick, then lays out a week-by-week 2027 calendar for 27 common vegetables and herbs. The crop offsets are generic weeks before or after your date and every one is editable, so the calendar follows your own habits and seed packets. All dates are historical statistics, not a forecast.
What you get
- 6,948 U.S. weather stations from NOAA's official 1991-2020 normals (50 states; Washington, D.C. has no usable station in the data).
- Four freeze thresholds: 36F, 32F, 28F and 24F, and three risk levels (Cautious, Typical, Optimistic) taken from NOAA's 10%, 50% and 90% probability dates.
- Calendar sheet for planting year 2027 with indoor-start, plant-out and fall-sowing windows for 27 crops; edit any offset in the yellow cells.
- By State sheet summarising typical dates across the stations in every state.
- A standard .xlsx file, checked in LibreOffice Calc; no macros, no external links. The example (Atlanta, Georgia) is pre-filled.
- Built-in Checks sheet, plain-language notes on how to read probabilities, and a sources page with the full NOAA citation.
What is included in the download

Buy now: $14Questions
- Is this a frost forecast? No. Dates are historical statistics from 1991-2020; actual frost and freeze dates vary from year to year and from yard to yard, so use the current weather forecast too.
- Which weather station should I pick? The closest one at a similar elevation. The guide to finding your nearest NOAA station walks through it, and the workbook lets you search by name.
- Which spreadsheet app should I use? It is a standard .xlsx file that we checked in LibreOffice Calc. The formulas use only widely supported functions, but other spreadsheet apps may display it differently, so please tell us if anything looks off.
- Can I change the planting offsets? Yes. All offsets are yellow input cells on the Crops sheet; the Calendar updates.
- What if my station is missing? The workbook has every U.S. station in NOAA's data that has a complete set of freeze probabilities. Stations with year-round freeze risk (some mountain and Alaska sites) or too few freezes to compute dates are left out.
- Refunds? One-time digital products can be refunded within 14 days; see the refund policy.
