Hueloom: Privacy Policy
Hueloom (formerly Page Palette) is a color and font picker browser extension. Publisher: Quietcog. Contact: gb1@mail.grokbot.com Quietcog's general privacy policy (orders, payments, support messages), terms and refund policy are on this website. This page describes what the extension itself does.
Summary
Hueloom lists the colors and fonts used on the web page you are looking at, so you can copy hex codes or export them as CSS variables, SCSS, a Tailwind config or JSON. It does this entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, sell or share the content of the pages you visit or the palettes you create. There is no account, no analytics and no advertising.
What the extension reads, stores and sends
- Page content: only when you click the Hueloom toolbar button, the extension reads the computed styles of the elements on that one tab (text colors, background colors, border colors, font families, sizes and weights) and the page's host name and title. The result stays in the popup's memory and is discarded when you close the popup, unless you click "Save palette" (Pro). The extension looks at text only to detect which elements contain text and how many characters they have, so it can work out each font's share of the page. It does not copy page text and does not read form values.
- Saved palettes (Pro): if you click "Save palette", the colors and fonts, the page's host name and its title are stored in your browser's local extension storage (
chrome.storage.local) on your device, up to 50 palettes. You can delete them in Settings, and they are removed when you uninstall the extension. - Files and clipboard: exports are created on your device and saved by your browser's normal download, or copied to your clipboard when you click a copy button.
- Settings and license key: your export options (such as the CSS selector, variable prefix and export format) and, if you buy Pro, your license key and its last check result (valid or not, check time and subscription period end) are stored in
chrome.storage.localand are removed when you uninstall the extension. - Network: the Free plan makes no network requests of its own. If you buy or activate Hueloom Pro, your license key is sent to our license server when you activate it, and at most about once a day when you open Hueloom afterwards, to check that your subscription is active. If the server cannot be reached, Pro keeps working from the last successful check for a grace period of about seven days. The key contains a Stripe subscription identifier and no page content. In Firefox, you are asked for permission (built-in data consent) before the key is first sent. The "Get Pro" and "Manage subscription" buttons open our license server and Stripe's hosted pages in a new tab.
- Purchases: payments are processed by Stripe under Stripe's privacy policy, which collects your billing email to complete the purchase; we can see purchase records, including that email, in our Stripe account. Our license server does not ask for, read, log or store your email: it handles only the license key and the subscription status it gets from Stripe. Like any web request, a license check and the Buy / Manage subscription pages reach us from your IP address; the license server is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes requests and IP addresses to run its network under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell or share your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Permissions and why they are needed
- activeTab: lets Hueloom read the tab you are on only after you click its toolbar button. Hueloom has no access to any site until you do that, and no content scripts or background scripts run.
- scripting: runs Hueloom's own bundled style reader in that tab. No code is downloaded from anywhere.
- storage: keeps your settings, saved palettes and Pro license key on your device.
Limited Use
The use of information received from your browser follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Page data is used only to provide the extension's single purpose of showing and exporting a page's colors and fonts. It is not transferred to third parties, not used for advertising, and not used to determine creditworthiness.
Accuracy
Colors are the browser's computed values for the elements on the page. Colors drawn in images, gradients or canvas elements are not read, and the contrast report skips text on background images. Results are a convenience, not a certified accessibility audit.
Children
Hueloom is not directed at children under 13.
