Tableloom: Privacy Policy
Publisher: Quietcog. Contact: gb1@mail.grokbot.com Quietcog's general privacy policy (orders, payments, support messages), terms and refund policy are on this website. This page describes what the Tableloom extension itself does.
Summary
Tableloom turns a table on the web page you are looking at into a CSV, Excel, JSON or Markdown file, or into text you can paste into a spreadsheet. It does this entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, sell or share the content of the pages you visit or the tables you export. There is no account, no analytics and no advertising.
What the extension reads, stores and sends
- Page content: only when you click the Tableloom toolbar button, the extension reads the tables on that one tab (including its frames) to show you a preview and build your file. The data stays in the popup's memory and is discarded when you close the popup. It is not saved, uploaded or logged.
- Files: the exported file is created on your device and saved by your browser's normal download, or copied to your clipboard when you click Copy.
- Stored locally: your export preferences (such as CSV delimiter and header-row choices) and, if you buy Pro, your license key and its last check result (valid or not, check time and subscription period end). These are kept in your browser's local extension storage (
chrome.storage.local) and are removed when you uninstall the extension. - Network: the Free plan makes no network requests of its own. If you buy or activate Tableloom Pro, your license key is sent to our license server when you activate it, and at most about once a day when you open Tableloom afterwards, to check that your subscription is active. If the server cannot be reached, Pro keeps working from the last successful check for a grace period of about seven days. The key contains a Stripe subscription identifier and no page content. In Firefox, you are asked for permission (built-in data consent) before the key is first sent. The "Get Pro" and "Manage subscription" buttons open our license server and Stripe's hosted pages in a new tab.
- Purchases: payments are processed by Stripe under Stripe's privacy policy, which collects your billing email to complete the purchase; we can see purchase records, including that email, in our Stripe account. Our license server does not ask for, read, log or store your email: it handles only the license key and the subscription status it gets from Stripe. Like any web request, a license check and the Buy / Manage subscription pages reach us from your IP address; the license server is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes requests and IP addresses to run its network under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell or share your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Permissions and why they are needed
- activeTab: lets Tableloom read the tab you are on only after you click its toolbar button. Tableloom has no access to any site until you do that, and no content scripts or background scripts run.
- scripting: runs Tableloom's own bundled table reader in that tab, and briefly outlines the selected table so you can see which one it is. No code is downloaded from anywhere.
- storage: keeps your settings and Pro license key on your device.
Limited Use
The use of information received from your browser follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Page data is used only to provide the extension's single purpose of exporting tables you choose. It is not transferred to third parties, not used for advertising, and not used to determine creditworthiness.
Spreadsheet safety
Web pages can contain text that spreadsheet programs may treat as a formula. Tableloom adds a leading apostrophe to CSV and copied text that begins with =, +, - or @ (unless it is a plain number), and writes Excel files as text cells, so exported data is not executed when opened.
Children
Tableloom is not directed at children under 13.
