About this workbook
Keep your reading log in a spreadsheet and let it do the sums. Add one row per book (date started and finished, pages, format, genre, rating, status) and the Dashboard shows books and pages finished, progress against your yearly goals, average rating, average pages per book and days to finish, with a monthly table and three charts.
The Log has room for 300 books. Drop-down lists keep format, genre and status tidy, and you can edit the genre list. A Challenge sheet lists 52 original weekly prompts and ticks each one when you give a finished book that prompt number. A TBR sheet holds your wish list.
It is a plain .xlsx file with no macros, add-ins or links to other files. Compatibility: standard .xlsx, checked in LibreOffice Calc; not tested in Excel or Google Sheets. The formulas were recalculated and checked against independent totals in LibreOffice. The title of every book is typed by you: the workbook itself contains no book titles, covers, quotations or author names.
How it works. (1) Open the file and set your year and goals on the Dashboard. (2) Add a row to the Log for each book, using the drop-down lists. (3) Watch the Dashboard, monthly table and charts update by themselves.
