About this product
Run a friendly bracket contest for your office, class, club or family. Type your 64 team names into four regions (seeds 1 to 16), name the regions, and the bracket is drawn for you through six rounds: Round of 64, Round of 32, Regional Semifinal, Regional Final, National Semifinal and Championship. As games finish, type both scores; the higher score advances and the champion appears at the end. Meanwhile each of up to 20 entrants fills in a pick column using drop-downs that only offer the two teams they have carried into each game, so every pick is a legal path. The Leaderboard scores everyone by points per round that you set (default 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32), breaks ties by the closest Championship-total guess, and shows the best score each entrant can still reach. An Entrant View marks one person's whole bracket Correct, Wrong, Out or Pending. Includes a blank copy and an example with invented teams and eight invented entrants. Bring your own team names; no real teams or event names are included, and there are no betting, pool or money features.
What you get
- 64-team single elimination: 4 regions, seeds 1-16, six rounds with generic names (Round of 64 to Championship)
- Type both scores for a game; the higher score advances automatically and winners are highlighted
- Pick sheet for up to 20 entrants: drop-downs offer only the two teams each entrant carried into that game
- Points per round are yours to set (default 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32); ties broken by closest Championship-total guess, then entry number
- Leaderboard with correct picks per round and each entrant's best still-possible score; Entrant View marks every pick Correct, Wrong, Out or Pending
- 14 built-in PASS/FAIL checks (duplicate team names, tied scores, picks that are no longer offered and more)
- Print setup for the bracket, final rounds, picks and leaderboard; blank workbook plus a filled-in EXAMPLE
- No macros, no add-ins, no internet needed; standard .xlsx with common spreadsheet functions, checked in LibreOffice Calc (other apps not tested)

Buy now: $9Questions
- How many entrants can I score? Up to 20. Each gets a column on the Picks sheet with a name and a Championship-total guess.
- Does it include real teams? No. You type your own 64 team names (or leave a cell empty to use its code, such as A1 or D16). The example uses invented names.
- Can I use other round or region names? You can rename the four regions and the teams. The six round names are generic and fixed.
- What if two teams have the same score? A knockout game cannot end level, so a tie is flagged on the Checks sheet and nobody advances until you correct the score.
- Which spreadsheet apps has it been checked in? It is a standard .xlsx workbook, checked in LibreOffice Calc (free). It uses only common spreadsheet functions, but other spreadsheet apps have not been tested, so we can't promise how they will handle it. OPENING-IN-OTHER-APPS.txt in the download has untested tips.
- Does it handle money, pools or betting? No. It is for a friendly contest only and has no betting, pool, prize or money features.
- Can I change team names after picks are entered? Rename teams before picks are entered. Picks are matched by name, and a renamed team shows the pick in red so you can choose again.
