How to make packing slips from Etsy and eBay order exports

Last updated October 28, 2026

Both Etsy and eBay let you download your orders as a spreadsheet. This guide shows where to find each file, what to check in it, and how to turn it into packing slips. The export formats are set by the marketplaces and can change, so always read your own file's header row first.

Etsy

  1. Sign in to Etsy.com and go to Shop Manager.
  2. Select Settings, then Options, then the Download Data tab, then Orders.
  3. Use the dropdowns to choose the CSV Type, the Month and the Year. (To download a whole year, leave Month unselected.) Etsy's help page lists order items, orders, Etsy Payments sales and Etsy Payments deposits among the types.
  4. Click Download CSV.

Etsy's page says the file includes item title, item price, payment method and the SKU numbers of items if you added them. For packing slips you need a file with one row per item and the ship-to name and address. Open the file and confirm those columns are present in the CSV type you picked. If a column you need is missing, you can add it to the spreadsheet by hand.

eBay

  1. In Seller Hub, open the Reports tab.
  2. Select Download on the left, then Download report.
  3. Choose Orders as the source and the report type you want (for example all orders or orders awaiting shipment).
  4. Pick a date range. eBay's help page says the range can be from 1 to 90 days.
  5. Click Download.

eBay's help page also notes that you can schedule recurring order reports. Exports can contain a few lines above the header row, so look at the first rows of the file before you load it anywhere.

Turning the file into slips

Sort by order number, group the rows, and print one slip per order with the item list. You can do that with a mail merge or a spreadsheet layout. Sliploom does the grouping and the layout in your browser; it has presets for Etsy-style and eBay Seller Hub-style headers, and a manual column mapper for anything else. The presets for Etsy are based on public third-party descriptions of the Etsy CSV rather than an Etsy document, so check the preview against your own file.

We have no affiliation with Etsy or eBay, and no claim is made that these exports will work with any tool. Marketplaces change their file formats; if a column is missing, map it by hand.
