How to print packing slips from a Shopify orders CSV

Last updated October 28, 2026

You can export your orders from Shopify as a CSV file and turn them into packing slips without installing an app. This guide covers the export, how Shopify lays out multi-item orders (the part that trips most people up), and three ways to get from the CSV to paper.

1. Export the orders

  1. In your Shopify admin, open Orders and sort or filter to the orders you want (for example, unfulfilled).
  2. Click Export.
  3. Choose what to export. Shopify's help page says that if you pick up to 50 orders or the current page, the CSV downloads to your device; if you pick more than 50, or export by date, the CSV is emailed to you and the store owner.
  4. Under Export as, choose a CSV file format, then click Export orders (not “Export transaction histories”, which holds payment data only).

2. Understand the file

3. Three ways to print

A. Mail merge (Word, Google Docs or similar)

Sort the sheet so each order is contiguous, fill the address down, then use a mail-merge template with one page per order. This works but needs a repeating block for line items, which is awkward in most word processors.

B. Spreadsheet with print areas

Use a pivot or formulas to make one block per order, set page breaks between orders and print. Fine for a few orders a day, tedious beyond that.

C. A tool that groups the rows for you

Sliploom reads the CSV in your browser, auto-detects a Shopify-style column set (or lets you map columns by hand), merges the rows of each order into one slip, and prints Letter, A4 or 4 × 6 in. It does not read or print prices, taxes or totals. The file is not uploaded anywhere.

Before printing a full batch

Column names can change, and stores can add custom columns, so open your own file and read the header row. Shopify's pages describe their export at the time we read them; we are not affiliated with Shopify.
